Two New Judges Join America’s Got Talent
When the last season of America’s Got Talent ended, we were all left with an unexpected cliffhanger. With Sharon Osbourne’s decision to leave the show, fans were left wondering who would replace her. According to reports, we now know who and how many judges will replace her.
Apparently, Osbourne is a very tough act to follow as two new judges will be joining the show, expanding the judges panel to four. This, however, does raise the question of what will happen when a vote of the judges ends in a 2-2 tie. I suppose that is a question for another day.
Joining current judges Howie Mandel and Howard Stern at the AGT judges table will be Melanie Brown, also known as Mel B and as Scary Spice, and Heidi Klum. Brown is a member of the legendary group, The Spice Girls. Heidi Klum is the host of Project Runway.
Brown’s being named to the show was recently announced. Klum’s hiring was announced by NBC on March 4th. Before the announcement, Klum had been seen on the set of the show, and according to reports, her name appeared on one of the judges chairs. Rumors had abounded over the weekend of her joining the show, but it was not made official by the network till this past Monday.
These two amazing ladies are replacing Sharon Osbourne, who left the show over a dispute with NBC concerning her son, Jack Osbourne, being released from a show called Stars Earn Stripes, on which he was scheduled to appear. His release came after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
It will be interesting to see how Brown and Klum blend into the judging mix, and how they handle Mandel and especially the self proclaimed king of all media, Stern. This is going to be a very interesting season of NBC’s talent show for all concerned.
